Ascan Mergenthaler
Ascan Mergenthaler was born in 1969. He studied architecture
at Universität Stuttgart, Germany and the Bartlett, Univesity
College London, UK from 1990 to 1997. He received his degree
in architecture from Universität Stuttgart in 1997. From
1995 to 1997 he worked with Konstantin Grcic – Industrial
Design. His collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron began
in 1998. In 2004 he became a partner of the firm. Currently
he is Partner in Charge for the TPT Tower in Beijing, China
(2004–2007); the Bond Street Apartment Building in New
York, USA (2004–2006); the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton,
USA (2005–2009); and the Elbphilharmonie, Philharmonic
Hall in Hamburg, Germany (2005–2009).
