Rick Joy
For 24 years Rick Joy has enjoyed a broad range of experiences in building. Joy entered the profession of architecture after 12 years as a musician and finish carpenter in Maine. After completing his degree in architecture in 1990 and a three year internship in the office of William Bruder Architect on the design team of the Phoenix Central Library, Joy began his own practice Rick Joy Architects in Tucson with current registrations in Arizona, Maine and Utah. He has been published extensively throughout the world including Italy, France, England, Spain, and Japan and received numerous awards. Joy has lectured in a variety of venues throughout the country and his work has been exhibited widely. Joy taught a design studio at the Harvard Graduate School of Design in the Fall of 2000. Joy will serve as a juror for the 2001 Progressive Architecture / Architecture Magazine Awards, the AIA/LA Design Awards with Phillipe Stark and was nominated for this yearŐs National Design Awards and the Chrysler Awards. |
