W Architects / Mok Wei Wei
Mok Wei Wei was born in 1956, in Singapore. Graduated from the National University
of Singapore in 1982 after studying under Singapore architect William Lim. From
the early 1990s, he practiced in partnership within Lim's WLA architects, and
then established W Architects in 2003. Early work for Lim's practice explored
postmodern and deconstructivist ideas, exemplified by the Church Cinema (1987)
and the Tampines North Community Centre (1989). He is a part-time tutor at the
School of Architecture, National University of Singapore since 1992, and his
work was exhibited at the Venice Biennale (2004). He is a member of the Singapore
Preservation of Monuments Board since 1999. Recent projects include the Loft
Condominium (1996-2002), and the Arris Apartments (1998-2003).
